Astrox 77 Play vs Nanoflare 700 Play: the Australian grip and price difference
Both are listed as flexible 4U racquets, but the observed Australian offers differ in grip availability: Astrox G6 at A$119 and Nanoflare G5 at A$129.
Updated:

1. Check the grip before choosing the lower price
For the Australian RacquetShop offers checked on 29 October 2026, Astrox 77 Play is listed at A$119 and Nanoflare 700 Play at A$129. The important qualification is stock by variant: Astrox 4U/G5 was marked unavailable, Astrox 4U/G6 available, and the Silver/Sky Blue Nanoflare 4U/G5 available. If you specifically need the offered G5 configuration, the cheaper Astrox listing was not an available like-for-like alternative at that check.
Start with the actual grip you have assessed, then compare the exact available order lines. A$10 less is not a saving if it buys a grip you do not want. We have not handled or played with either model. The real photographs below show a different older Yonex racquet, an unstrung Li-Ning frame and a separate stringing job; none is presented as either current comparison model.
2. Keep weight class, grip and stock on separate lines
The manufacturer identifies the two models as AX77-PL and 2NF-700PL. Both list the 4U weight class. Grip labels are a separate part of the specification: Astrox lists G5 and G6, while the observed Nanoflare page and Australian offer identify G5. A shared 4U label does not make G5 and G6 the same handle configuration. It also does not establish identical measured ready-to-play mass after strings and grip changes.
At the checked item prices, 129 − 119 = A$10. That arithmetic applies to the displayed goods amounts. It does not establish a matched-grip delivered quote: the Astrox G5 line was unavailable, and shipping, any chosen stringing service and final fulfilment conditions were not confirmed. Availability is an observation, not a reservation.

3. Compare the documented construction without inventing a performance test
Both official specifications name graphite frame and shaft, Hi-Flex, and a length described as 10 mm longer. The quoted length is relative wording from the manufacturer; this guide does not turn it into an unverified absolute measurement. Nor does the shared material name establish identical layup, balance or how a particular player will feel the racquet.
The retailer descriptions associate Astrox with AERO+BOX frame and Rotational Generator System, and Nanoflare with AERO frame and Sonic Flare System. These are documented design descriptions. They are not a measured head-to-head result for swing speed, shuttle speed, accuracy or durability. The useful confirmed purchasing differences here are the exact offered grip, availability and item amount; try the actual handle and frame rather than treating a technology name as proof of personal fit.
4. A stringing range does not tell you what is installed
The current official pages give 20–28 lb stringing advice for the 4U versions. That is a manufacturer specification range. It does not establish the tension currently installed in the retailer’s item, prove that a stringing job is included in the quoted price, or prescribe a tension for your individual use. The two official pages also give model-specific stringing instructions; use the exact model instructions with a competent stringer.
The unstrung Li-Ning photograph makes an empty frame and its grommets visible, but its hole layout is not either Yonex model’s stringing map. The separate machine photograph illustrates work that may need a separate quote; it supplies no tension measurement. A photograph of strings on an older racquet likewise cannot establish the supplied string type or installed tension of a newly ordered PLAY model.

5. Confirm the complete order before paying
Ask the retailer to confirm the exact model code, selected grip, current stock, supplied string condition and whether any requested restringing is included or charged separately. Then obtain the final delivery or collection amount. Keep the displayed A$119/A$129 item comparison separate from that completed quote: an unknown service or shipping charge is not zero. The existing kit-cost tool can add confirmed components once you have them.
If G5 is the configuration you intend to buy, the checked Nanoflare offer is the available candidate in this pair; an Astrox G5 restock or a separately verified offer would change that choice. If you have assessed and want the offered G6, Astrox has the lower observed goods amount. Neither conclusion is a guarantee about fit or on-court performance. Recheck the actual variant before ordering and retain the model, grip and written supply conditions with the purchase.
